Pay per click (PPC) is a kind of advertising where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser’s website. It is a model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites / blogs.

How PPC works

Advertisers predict and bid on keywords or keyword phrases they think their targeted users might look for. When visitors and users actually click on an ad, the advertiser is charged an amount equal to the bid price set for that keyword. Also known as Sponsored Links / Sponsored Ads, these links are placed above or next to the organic search results.
