If you want to post articles about several un-themed topics, it’s better to use a separate website or domain for the new topic. This will keep your website simple and user-friendly and it would be easy for your visitors to navigate through your site without getting distracted or annoyed.
Using one website for several different un-themed topics can cause problems for the website users as well as for the search engines. Themed websites get links from other themed and related websites, which help boost the website ranking on the search engines. Google is also able to associate and decide the theme of a website according to the keywords used in the website pages and also based on the text links coming to the website.
So if you are planning to make a website about some new hobby or topic, it is better to register a completely new domain for it and make a new website, instead of adding an un-related section to your personal blog or existing business website.
